"COMMENTS from the Sensei"Carlos Varon has been a student of Many teachers, including myself.
That does not mean he has no loyalty.
It means he is a SEEKER of knowledge. Something many of us envy.
It was I who promoted him to 5th and 6th and it was I who introduced him to Kawanabe Sensei and then to Japan.
It was I who nominated him to numerous "Hall of Fames"
Therefore it is I who am responsible for shinning the spotlight on Carlos Varon.
He is not an "opportunist", but a proud, dedicated, loyal, energetic, martial artist wanting to share his knowledge and joy with everyone.
This magazine cover was made possible by Carlos Varons efforts alone.
This article promoting Kawanabe Sensei was a long time in coming and may have come too late had Sensei passed on.
This is the first article and it is about Kenjiro Kawanabe.
Carlos was the one who took the time to interview him and put this all together.
It was written well.
This "Blog" of MINE was created by Carlos for me as an offer for every student, friend, co worker, parent to vent, comment, ,contribute. display pictures, tell stories and share their lives with all of us.
No one ever contributed articles or photos to me.
No one but Carlos.
His character assasination was so loud that I felt I had no choice but to set the record straight and address the comments made.
Carlos did what I had hoped you all would do.
He showed the "Patriotic Guard" protecting the remains of our soldiers to their final resting place.
He showed "Rolling Thunder" motorcycles to show support for our Veterans.
He put up Salvation Army answering the call to 9-11, Katrina, Biloxie. Fires throughout NYC and ALWAYS ALWAYS included our Dojo Promotions from Staten Island, Brooklyn, Chinatown and Vermont.
Without this, we would have no blog, or a very boring one.
Carlos made the way and you thought this blog was all about JUST HIM.

Hi Sensei
I did the first Article for Kawanabe last January for Sohei magazine with his permission and help from Eli remember?
It was printed and published. this is the SECOND one to honor him. I also did one for you too if you recall?
